About Our Client
Avalon International specialise in developing custom made retail and promotional products to wow their target markets in New Zealand and Internationally. Their products include branded and generic ranges of craft, educational, souvenir, household items, health + beauty, stationery, toy and novelties that they sell in to the retail, wholesale and corporate channels. Whatever the strategy, they'll seek an outstanding solution specifically tailored to the individual needs of the customer. The design team and company processes allow them to connect with their target markets in an inspirational way via these customised products. Avalon's distribution channels are multi layered creating endless opportunities to be explored. They are seeking a new hire to lead the Sales function for the business and capitalise on the exceptional growth potential. This person should have the capacity and desire to move in to General Management in the future as the Directors are looking for succession planning.
Reporting to the Board your primary responsibility will be to lead the sales team and identify and drive new growth for the business. You will have proven experience delivering commercial sales objectives, opening up new business opportunities and driving results through the management of key accounts. Your demonstrated experience in devising and implementing business plans and customer relationship strategies will ensure you effectively drive the business towards growth. Your dedicated business development and account management approach, combined with your leadership skills will ensure your success in leading the sales team to grow the penetration of Avalon's products. Strong relationship management skills and your networks will enable you to connect with and influence buyers and decision makers at all levels and work through category plans, range reviews and new business opportunities. As a manager you will lead from the front with a high level of energy, but also be hands on, with a can do attitude.
The Successful Applicant
You will currently be employed in a Sales Manager or Key Account Manager position selling in to the retail or wholesale channels. You are a collaborative individual with a proven history in engaging, managing and influencing relationships with stakeholders. This will include having established relationships at senior buyer level with leading businesses. You will possess a strong desire to lead growth and earnings for both the company and yourself.
