About Our Client
Our client is a NZX listed Technology company with offices here and abroad. They are continuing to grow both their size and profits and now employ over 500 people globally. They are very passionate about what they do, therefore, the successful candidate will be focused and capable of delivering in a fast-paced environment. They are looking for a contract Finance Manager to join their Auckland CBD based team for 3 months. Potential to extend or go permanent.
The core responsibility will be to oversee the financial operations of the New Zealand business and the consolidation of the Group to ensure financial reporting and accounting is managed in a timely and accurate manner. Robust controls and processes must be applied in project accounting and revenue recognition for the business's licensing models and professional services, through to management of the billing process and cash collection. Scope of the role includes financial operations (AP, AR, transactional accounting etc), cash management, internal control policies and procedures, preparation of NZ tax returns and statutory accounts, and liaison with the Group auditors as required. Leadership and coaching of a team of three accountants.
The Successful Applicant
- Minimum of 5 years accountancy experience, with at least 3 years of commercial experience
- Good understanding of statutory requirements
- Payroll knowledge
- Up to date with best practice accounting practices
- Excellent commercial flair
- Advanced excel skills
