Reporting into the Group General Manager, the General Manager Finance's primary responsibility will be to manage the corporate responsibilities and financial administration functions of Alsco Investments NZ, ensuring that accurate information is available to support the leadership team in their management of the business. The position is responsible for the management of corporate accounting, taxation, superannuation, treasury and company secretarial responsibilities for all NZ based entities including Deane Apparel. Your proven commercial experience in business partnering will assist you in delivering business transformation and commercial outcomes that drive business performance. You will be proactive in identifying opportunities and recommending strategies, systems, and processes that deliver value to the business. You will provide commercial insight and challenge on an ongoing basis to directly influence strategic planning and commercial decisions. You will undertake profitability analysis, strategic plan preparation, risk analysis, business case development, and provide financial support to relevant capital projects and M&A. You recognise that people are a key driver of value and your coaching style will see you engaging people across the organisation. Your extensive people management experience will position you well in coaching, leading and developing an indirect team of 30, with 6 direct reports including Financial Management, Payroll, Financial Accountants, Management Accountants, System Accountants, Analysts and Credit Control.
The Successful Applicant
You are CA/CPA or CIMA qualified and have previous experience in both Chartered Accountancy and Commercial Finance roles. You will have a strong manufacturing and / or distribution background and can demonstrate the value and positive impact your recommendations have had to business. You will possess the demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a complex organisation complemented by the ability to provide advice on broad strategic and financial matters to a highly innovative management team. You will be passionate about working in an ever changing and fast paced environment where your contribution is an integral part of the leadership team. Proven leadership experience is imperative to the success of this role as you will be driving and motivating a team of high performers.
