About Our Client
Our client are a well-known global freight forwarder who provide continuous training and development for their teams and have a value-based approach where they're always looking to improve their clients' supply chains. They're looking for an experienced Customs Manager or a Customs Supervisor who is looking to take a step up to lead their busy Customs department. Our client provides a supportive environment for their leadership team and provides career growth and progression both within New Zealand and on an international scale.
Managing the Customs department, you'll be providing day-to-day leadership as well as strategic direction to the operation, in addition to mentoring and developing a team of brokers and a supervisor. You'll be focused on improving the service levels of the department to clients, as well as managing and improving internal team KPIs. You'll have overall PNL responsibility for the department and will be part of the senior leadership team within New Zealand. Passionate about leadership, you'll be leading and guiding your team as well as able to manage and provide advice around any challenges your team are dealing with.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate absolutely must have their Customs PIN. You may currently be in a Customs Manager role looking for your next move, or could be in a Customs Supervisor role and looking for career progression. Alternatively, you may have a leadership role within another area of freight forwarding or imports / exports, but be looking for the opportunity to expand your experience. You'll need to be commercially focused, have strong communication skills, have a desire to mentor and develop your team, and be driven to provide operational excellence at all times, always seeking improvements and efficiencies.
