About Our Client
Our client are a New Zealand owned and operated business who specialise in a range of high end home ware accessories has recently acquired a new furniture business venture and are looking for a Buyer to lead the development of their procurement of furniture. Being part of a small team, the role has varied scope and you will be part of the company's change and growth.
The role is primarily managing overseas buying and sourcing for their furniture, homeware and rug ranges, and will include managing relationships with suppliers, some overseas buying trips each year, and helping manage the company's attendance at industry trade fairs. You'll also be updating product catalogues and the website, as well as assisting with pricing and order placement. You'll be working closely with the Managing Director, Sales personnel, and the company's Designer. As the company requires an all hands on deck attitude, an element of the role is also sales, where you will be working with the showroom and advising and working with current and potential clients.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate for this role will have buying experience ideally with furniture, however homeware, home décor or design backgrounds will also be looked favourably on. You'll be comfortable with range building and development, and have a flair for design and trends. You'll bring a strong work ethic, an enjoyment of working with people, great attention to detail, and excellent relationship building skills across a wide range of people. You'll also be able to travel internationally, attend trade shows and be comfortable with a role with broad scope.
