Job Description

Our client is looking for a 1st Engineer whose duty will be assist the Chief Engineer with safe & efficient operation and maintenance of equipment machinery.

Duties

  • Familiarizes with and maintains awareness of the relevant company requirements and where applicable, the latest industry codes and standards including statutory rules and regulations.
  • Ensure a safe and efficient operation of all machinery on board during the duty shift.
  • Ensure all workspace technical and maintenance activities are carried out consistently with company policies and in accordance to Vessel Management System.
  • Ensure that permit to work system and relevant isolation and confined space entry procedures are understood and observed.
  • Ensure that the Asset Management Operative System (AMOS) is rigorously implemented .
  • Ensure that DP engine room operations, where required, are carried out as per company procedures.
  • Supervise bunkering / offloading of fuel/oil, the refueling of vessels.
  • Orders, in consultation with the chief engineer, spare parts and consumables for the vessel.
  • Develop recommendations for stand by repair work and modifications.
  • Perform duties within the vessel emergency team as indicated in EPM (Emergency Preparedness Manual).
  • Proposes to the Chief Engineer necessary reviews the operation manual when changes to equipment or standard operating procedures takes place.

The Successful Applicant

  • Five (5) years as Engine Officer on off-shore activity.
  • Computer Literacy
  • As per Stcw95 and per company training matrix.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
  • Holding an Stcq95 111/2
